Here is something for your log:

The 3rd deployment of the Coastal Environmental weather station mounted on the MOBY mooring
buoy took place at 0921 23 January 2003 using the R/V Kaimikai-O-Kanaloa. All deployment
operations proceeded smoothly with the exception of a slightly damaged cell phone antenna
which was later replaced. The station began collecting data immediately with all sensors
operating as expected except for a troublesome WET Labs Wetstar fluorometer.

The system is equipped with two R.M.Young model 5103 anemometers, s/n 44265 and 44266, two

s/n WS1-054, one WET Labs C-Star transmissometer s/n CST-605PB, one Honeywell PPT barometer,

The correct wind direction is from sensor #2 and the data is being logged by GMT. The remainder of
the data from the previous deployment is now on the ftp space.

I may have found the problem with the fluorometer, it was a formatting problem on my part,
it was only transmitting via cell phone one decimal. I changed the program to transmit
three decimal places, well see how it goes. I also noticed that there seems to be a
pretty steady degradation in the transmissometer signal, must be getting fouled.

The fluorometer data you have for this deployment, the past half day, is no good. This time it
is a calibration problem. I will try to change data logger to the correct values so that it will
output voltage this afternoon when the modem turns on. There is a ten minute window so it is
                              sometimes hard to catch.

Ill let you know when it is outputting voltage. The transmissometer is outputting voltage and Ill
work on getting you a conversion equation for both.

WED 19-FEB-2003 (050) - A Driver on the MOBY SGI was corrupted and therefore did not allow MOBY to dial-in. Ray fixed the problem by rebuilding the driver on Sunday. MOBY dialed in successfully on Feb 23 the 23 hour file.

THU 17-APR-2003 (107) - The MOBY222 was towed to the lee of lanai and recovered (?The next morning?). I am unable to call into the buoy. This has happened in the past and can last for many days. In the past however, the buoy was calling out even though I was unable to call in. So, can Ray enable the diagnostics so we will know if/when the buoy calls? As for the last buoy M222, The 22 hour MOBY acquisition was overrunning the start of the 23 hour file for some reason. Dont know why yet. We will have no 23 hour files for the days you recieved 22 hour files. Mark
