Satellite band averaged data: water-leaving radiance, surface irradiance
and solar normalized water-leaving radiance. These values are given as the mean flux (not the total flux)
for each band. The total and in-band averages are calculated for each satellite.
A separate data listing (denoted by it's hour) is presented when MOBY collects more than one file per day.
Six water-leaving radiances can be calculated from different
combinations of MOBY four radiance collectors. The best water-leaving radiance
is Lw1, determined from the upper two arms. If MOBY's top arm is damaged then Lw7 is included.
During this deployment the LuTop and LuBot arms had major problems which resulted the loss of Lws calculated
using these arms. The LuTop data started drifting downwards in Feb until on 19 Feb the LuTop and LuMid
data were so close the Kls produced were below clear water. Therefore there are no Lw1 data after 18 Feb.
This problem was discovered by Mike Feinholz during the post deployment calibrationss where he found that the
LuTop response had dropped by 40%. On 15 Jan the LuBot data started to drift downward. However Mike did not
see any change in the LuBot calibrations from pre to post deployment. It is not know what caused this problem
but after Jan 15 there are no Lw7 data products.
To provide Lw for the calibration process we use the 9-year monthly mean Kl to propagate the middle arm Lu data
to the surface. This Lw is called Lw11. The 9-year monthly mean Kl3 was calculated for each MOBY hour
(20, 22 and 23).
Lw1 is the Water-Leaving Radiance calculated from LuTop and Kl1(LuTop-LuMid)
Lw7 is the Water-Leaving Radiance calculated from LuMid and Kl3(LuMid-LuBot)
Lw11 is the Water-Leaving Radiance calculated from LuMid and Kl3 (5-year monthly mean)
